Ajengan Restaurant

Location: Melawai, South Jakarta – Near Asih Hospital

After blogwalking for a while, I found this forum for ‘bules’ (foreigners) in Jakarta. From the way the chat, I guess these were the middle kinda bules. What topic do you think would have brought my interest? Of course. Food! :d

I was kinda interested with this restaurant they recommend. It’s a Balinese style one, located in a nice area of Melawai. I can’t remember the exact location, but if you wanna go there, you try to find Asih Hospital (across from Melawai Plaza) then ask any ‘tukang parkir’ (parking man). They should know where to direct you.

The restaurant does not look like one from outside. It looked like a semi-dark Balinese-style house with a small front yard. But once I stepped in, I kinda like the atmosphere. When we entered the house, I liked it even better. It resembled a house. Yes, a house. With a dining room to accommodate 20 people on one long table. Other rooms could accommodate smaller groups too.

They serve Balinese food, obviously. Three of us ordered Nasi Campur (Balinese mixed rice) which consists of a plate of rice, shredded chicken, three fish satay, mixed steam veggie, fish gulai, and sambal matah. Gosh, it was so delicious. The rest of the gank ordered different kinds of food and they were all soooo good.  Would surely want to come back 🙂

=====================================================

Sate pulut-nya? Pas banget di lidah.

Soal minuman, kita rada gak kreatif. Mostly minum iced dan hot tea. Gue minum fruitpunch tapi rasanya lebih banyak kaya jus jambu merah.

In total we spent 440 thousand Rups. Not bad for so much food.
Good food, nice ambiance, warm service says it all 🙂
